German - Junior

This years you will be developing your German language skills in the context of a variety of topics such as

You will learn to communicate about relationships between people, ownership, likes and dislikes, time, weather, seasons, physical characteristics, personality and feelings, habits and routines, about events and where they take place. about how people travel, about plans for the immediate future, obligations and responsibilities and the quality, quantity and cost of things. You will also learn to give and follow directions, to offer, ask for, accept and decline things, invitations and suggestion and to give and seek permission.

This is according to levels 2, 3 & 4 of German in the New Zealand Curriculum. These three levels contribute with level 5 & 6 in Year 11 to make up the three-year-course to Level One NCEA German.

All four language skills, listening, speaking, reading and writing will be focussed on equally. There will be regular tests to monitor your progress and you should keep a record of your results.

Vocabulary is an important part of learning a language and you will have to make it a regular routine to learn and revise the vocabulary. There will be regular vocabulary tests.
