EPIC: access to databases containing thousands of international and New Zealand magazines, newspapers, biographies, reference works and images. EPIC lets you print off up-to-date full text articles covering a huge range of subjects from EBSCO and Thomas Gale

  • ODT digital archive Access and search back issues (from Jan 2004) of the ODT here.

  • The Source is a database of information about novels, short stories and poems searchable by subject, author, title, genre, age and for poems first lines. Also provides biographical details on authors including links to their websites. You will need to logon Click Here to go to The Source

  • DISCOVER: TE KOHINGA TAONGA An online database of New Zealand art and music: photographs, paintings, posters, music, video clips, essays and bibliographies, arranged in 13 topics areas to support the visual arts and music discipline of the Arts curriculum.

  • Index New Zealand (INNZ)
    An online index of New Zealand periodical and newspaper articles, which is very easy to search, and which gives you a summary of all the indexed articles. However you will need to send away to the National Library in Wellington to get a photocopy of the actual article (unless we have that particular periodical in the library.)
  • Tag those articles you want copies of – go to the bottom of screen – put in your school e-mail address and SEND
  • When it arrives in your mailbox use REPLY.  Type school’s name and your e-mail address for  PDF copies or School’s name, address and your name for paper copy beside each item
  • Change the e-mail address to dss@natlib.govt.nz and SEND
  • Requests are processed within two working days.
